Interested in Alzheimer's Disease, my research focuses on determining whether human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived cerebral organoids could serve to accurately and efficiently model Alzheimer's Disease pathobiology. My involvement with dementia patients as a volunteer has deepened my awareness of the lifestyles of not only the patients but also their caregivers, family, and friends. Witnessing the widespread impact of Alzheimer's Disease, I aspire to contribute meaningfully to our understanding of this affliction. I am driven by a passionate commitment to pave the way toward the development of superior care strategies, innovative treatments, and, ultimately, a definitive cure.

Hello there! I'm Aditya Jindal here, an international undergraduate student at the University of Leeds pursuing my degree in Economics and Finance. My research project is based on cultural diversity with broader aspects of business and employability. My first summer is focused on a literature review and I'm excited about this new experience. I will be studying medicine through the four-year graduate-entry track MBChB at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from September 2026. I am also a graduate in Global Health and Development BASc (1:1), with Psychology and Neuroscience double minors, at the University of Hong Kong, where I joined the Laidlaw Scholars Programme. With my dual background in global health and psychology, I am passionate about the human mind and a sustainable healthcare system that supports mental well-being. I am an enthusiastic learner and proactive leader, building strong teamwork and communication skills by volunteering in youth engagement projects. Working in an overseas health organisation placement and with international research teams has also cultivated my flexible and global mindset. I aspire to contribute to public health and medicine by further integrating my studies in brain and psychological sciences. I had a broad research exposure across the UK, Hong Kong and Japan during my first undergraduate degree. I conducted my Laidlaw research project at the UCL Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health. I also undertook a six-month capstone attachment in Japan, working at the International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine, University of Tsukuba. Some of my ongoing or previous projects include those related to sleep medicine, psychoeducation, mental health, psychiatry and female menstruation health. I am a college sophomore at the prestigious University of Toronto, Scarborough double majoring in Neuroscience and Human Biology. I am a proud recipient of the Laidlaw Foundation Undergraduate Leadership and Research Scholarship 2023. My research project aims to explore the feasibility of a Deep Learning model to diagnose Alzheimer's disease at an early stage with the help of open-source EEG datasets. Having been part of the winning team at the Ontario Shores x UTSC The Hub's Hackathon, my team won a prize money of $5000 and the opportunity to work closely with Ontario Shores in the future to implement our AI-powered solution to help them navigate their database of internal and external resources more effectively. I work as a Research Assistant at the Therapeutic Interventions for Psychosis Lab at UTSC under Dr Michael Best. I have contributed to monthly article summaries, literature reviews and systematic reviews, in addition to assessing participants for clinical trials. I am familiar with administering a battery of tests, including MCCB, RR, WRAT-5, PANSS6, PSYRATS, BNSS, EEG tasks as well as computer-based tests. I have conducted in-person clinical interviews as well, which helped me understand the level of skill and ethic required while interacting with participants as well as fellow researchers. Some of my other research experiences include my role as a Transcriber for The Scoliosis Success Project at the University of British Columbia, as well as my role as a research student at COBWEB UTSC under Dr Brad Bass. My research interests include Alzheimer's disease, AI in Healthcare, Schizophrenia, fear expression in cases of sociopathy and caregiver stress. I possess extensive volunteer experience as a Youth Ambassador for EKAM foundation. Some causes that I am passionate about include Women and Children's healthcare, Organ Donation as well as Women in STEM. I truly believe that it is important to know who you are before making a decision about what you want to be. Instead of prematurely focusing on one area, I wish to learn, adapt and dive into the future with the determination to grow.

I am a Neuroscience student at Trinity College Dublin with a strong intrest in all things science.  My research project looks at the neurotoxicity of nanoplastics.  In my spare time I love to go sailing and hiking.

Dan-Thi has lived in fast-paced environments in Asia (Hong Kong, Japan) and she is now based in Lausanne, Switzerland. She enjoys travelling and always looks for discovering new cultures. She can speak French, English and Vietnamese. You can talk with her about anything regarding food, sport and travel. She is a really bad swimmer and has absolutely no green thumb! :)
