My research is about the relationships between Indigenous Christians, the British Government, the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and non-Christian indigenous peoples and how these relationships, desire for land, and Christian beliefs led to the expulsion, murder, and resettlement of Indigenous Christians in 1675-6.

Hello! I'm a second year Biology student at the University of Leeds and I'm part of the 2024 Scholars cohort.
I have been trying to figure people out for a long time and I thought what better way than to explore the wonders of neuroscience in my first year research project!?

Hi everyone! My name is Caroline, and I am a rising fourth-year at the University of Toronto pursuing a double major in Public Policy and Sociology, and a minor in Education and Society. As a Laidlaw Scholar, I investigated the factors that influence cross-national educational disparities in a study comparing Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. I hope to further investigate such inequalities to bridge systemic gaps in social mobility in my future academic and professional endeavours. Some of my interests include track and field, playing violin, and spending time outdoors. Please feel free to reach out; I would love to connect!
Currently a second-year medical student at the University of St Andrews, with an interest in medical ethics and humanities.
My research interest primarily focuses on metabolic disorders such as type 1 and 2 diabetes as well as metabolic dysfunction in cancer. I am interesting in understanding the usage of analytic methods of identifying metabolite and lipid differences in pathology such as LC-MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry) in metabolomics and lipidomics analysis. My Laidlaw research project is a collaborative project with the Joslin Diabetes Centre/Harvard Medical School and aims to identify whether stable isotope labelling can be used with transgenic brown adipose tissue for metabolite and lipid identification to elucidate the role of brown adipose tissue in glucose homeostasis.

Hello! My name is Ananya and I am rising junior at Barnard College, majoring in Urban studies, specializing in Environment and Sustainability, with a minor in Architecture.
The world is in a constant state of change. Whether it is the ever-changing nature of sustainable urban design, climate and world events, or new methods of organizing communities in urban spaces. With change comes meaningful action, a step I want to undertake.
Having studied and experienced a multitude of cultures, I have learned a lot about community, and how it forms to bring people together in various contexts. My ongoing degree at Barnard College inspires me to explore the idea of community through urban studies, environmental sustainability, architecture, and design in a multifaceted manner.
I am excited to step out of my comfort zone and adapt to new environments. I am ready to learn a variety of skills to transcend the boundaries of design and community and coalesce them for a more productive and inspiring future.
My research interests include sustainable urban planning/design, and their connections to general local or environmental policy practices across Southeast Asia. My laidlaw research aims to look at neighborhood designation in Singapore and its connection to street/mural art narratives and community representation.
