Resilient Materials, Resilient Cities: Assessing the Viability of Self-Repairing Composites for Reconstruction Following the 2023 Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes
Concrete used in Turkiye's reconstruction has flat R-curve behaviour, causing irreversible damage during earthquake swarms. To prevent catastrophic failure, this project develops a bio-inspired, self-healing composite capable of autonomous recovery under cyclic seismic loading.
