My project "Thermoeconomic analysis of a Prototype Vapour Compression Distillation Device" aims to combat metal poisining in the developing world.
I'm happiest when building. I've built everything from engines to robots to water filters. I have a keen interest in 3D printing, robotics and vehicle dynamics. I also co-founded Vaporly and have an avid interest in entrepreneurship.

I am an undergraduate Laidlaw scholar from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. I have lived most of my life in Dublin (apart from three years in Berlin - but no, I can't speak German). My main research area is political philosophy; my research interests in particular are in how human rights can be used as an approach to morality, and how we should consider and address 'structural injustices' in society. I also have interests in democratic theory, and heterodox approaches to economics.
Outside academia, I am often involved in social/political activism. I'm a keen ultimate frisbee player, and I enjoy chess, table tennis, and hiking. I'm also (slowly) learning French and Polish.

I am a fourth year student in Middle Eastern, Jewish and Islamic Civilizations in Trinity College Dublin. My research focuses on the impact of Covid-19 on the arrival to Europe of Syrian and Palestinian refugees from Lebanon. In the second summer of the scholarship I worked with the Egypt Foundation for Refugee Rights. I am interested in migration, diversity and inclusivity.

For my research I will be exploring the attitudes of potential therapy recipients towards novel therapeutics in Parkinson's Disease to improve cognition. I'm a final year European Studies student, majoring in Spanish and minoring in German, in Trinity College Dublin. My research concerns the memory, experience, and discourse of gendered violence in the Irish and Spanish civil wars. For my LiA, I worked with Women Rights Initiative (WORI), a grassroots, Ugandan women-led women's rights organisation in Jinja, Uganda, focusing on resource mobilisation.
Currently studying History at Undergraduate level at Trinity College Dublin. Outside of college, I spend my time with music and ballet, catching up on reading ‘old classics’, some amateur photography, and trying to gain a little bit of an understanding of biology and medicine.
For the duration of this programme, my research aims to prove a connection between environmental “end time” scenarios and their instrumentalization for the development of social movements. Through a historical perspective, I first want to identify patterns and then in a second step relate them back to universal reasons that make people susceptible to “political agitation”. Finally, I plan to develop recommendations for political education that help promote critical thinking in the context of political and social movements.
Tom is a 3rd year Poltical Science & Geography Major in Trinity College Dublin. Currently he is spending a year abroad on Erasmus in Science Po, Reims, France.

He is the Secretary of the college Philosophical Society (The Phil), which is the worlds oldest University society. As part of this role he runs the weekly chamber debates/panel discussions.
He is also an alum of the Washington Ireland Program, where he spent 8 weeks this summer working remotely with individuals in the US, completing a work placement project and putting together a policy paper surrounding sustainable transport in Ireland
I was a History undergraduate at Durham University, where I was part of the 2021-22 Laidlaw Scholars cohort (2020-23). Afterwards, I studied MSt in Global and Imperial University at Oxford University (2023-24) with a specialisation in postcolonial Anglophone African history and English-speaking Caribbean under the British empire.
Now, I'm currently working in digital marketing.
For my research, I investigated the use of the Crusades within far-right organisations and what it reveals about the readings of crusade history. During my second summer, I was a part of the ThinkPacific Youth and Community project in Fiji from June to July 2022.

I am completing a research project on narrative transmission and reproduction, looking at how oral accounts of geological events are passed down accurately over generations. By understanding how narratives are constructed I am keen to explore interdisciplinary approaches, particularly between Anthropology, Linguistics, Computer-Human Interaction, and Cognition.
Other interests include literature, art and photography, architecture, astronomy, and outdoor pursuits.
I'm an environmental scientist from Dublin, Ireland. My primary interest is in vegetation-climate interactions, feedbacks and tipping points and vegetation resilience to climate change. I have developed skills in and an understanding of global dynamic vegetation models, while carrying out an internship at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry. There I assisted with the integration of new plant hydraulics module into the DGVM QUINCY. I intend to develop foundational skills in machine learning with the aim to integrate remote sensing, machine learning and DGVM's.
