  • One thing you've learned this week

One thing I learned this week is that less is sometimes more when making a poster. There’s a very strong temptation to dump everything I’ve learned over the past six weeks into my research poster. But that wouldn’t be very fun to look at and nobody would bother reading my poster. Making a poster is all about focusing on the most important pieces of information, which I’ve had to learn to do.

  • A challenge you've faced, and how you plan to overcome that challenge

A challenge I’ve faced is learning how to use Canva, a graphic design software. I’ve asked friends who have more experience with Canva for help, and they’ve promised to look over my poster and give me advice on how to make it look more visually appealing.

  • One goal you've set for yourself for the week

One goal I’ve set myself for this week is to finish my poster and start editing my paper. I’m in the final stages of my research project and I just need to make sure I focus on the last few things I need to do.

Congratulations on finishing out your research summer! I'm glad that you have wonderful friends to support you as you learn a bit more about Canva. The website also has a few helpful tutorials that you may want to check out. I'm also happy to review your poster before your final submission if you'd like. Just let me know!
