I thought I'd spare you all from a picture of our freezer full of urine (though it is a site to behold) and, instead, talk a little about the lab partners that have been instrumental to my research this summer. I don't think I truly understood the meaning of "leader-beside" during our initial workshops, but the past six weeks have shown me the power of this model. Yuki, Aisha, and I have reached a level of collaboration in the lab that sometimes transcends the need to speak! Our project has had its ups and downs, but we pushed each other to deeper scientific understanding and problem solving. I might even go as far as to say that I will miss scraping the frozen urine alongside them.
