I have loved exploring Oxford during my free time here! For what I thought was a small city, there has been quite a lot to see and do. Oxford has endless beautiful buildings. These are all accompanied by endless tourists dressed in Harry Potter attire taking pictures with them, which suprised me; I hadn't realized how much the city depended on tourists. I've loved going to the museums and gardens (shout out Justin!) I will always retreat to a library, and my biggest cultural shock was learning that only a few of the libraries stayed open past 7. Indeed, I've just relocated and am currently sitting in one of these "late opening" libaries, which will be accessible until an incredibly late 9pm. Food is also always a fun thing to explore. For example, a food cart named "Best Kebab Van" turned out to be aptly named, besting even Hooda with its shawarma wrap. The quintessential British Sunday Roast exceded my expectations of how good British food could be. But it's not all wins. I've attached a picture of my first afternoon tea from earlier today. Believe it or not, in the scone department, New York takes the cake.

Oldest surviving purpose-built University building that was featured in, not one, but three Harry Potter movies.

Library pictures taken at the expense of looking like a tourist.

If you reached this far because you thought this was incredibly hilarious, stay tuned. My supervisor is also a stand-up comic and is trying to convince me to perform at one of his open mics. It might be a good time to put my supposedly "British sense of humour" to good use.

[insert canned laughter] perform at one of his open mics! Would fly to the UK to watch your stand up comedy debut
That's very fun! I do think getting to experience different work cultures is always enjoyable. One thing that I've done here is go to trivia events with the members of the team in the evenings.
