Tradition

Everything has a past. Although it is not something that is immediately present, it is nonetheless alive and informs the essence of every present object or experience. We will explore our indebtedness to the past through the concept of tradition - the present window to the past.

This project seeks to bring the past back to the centre of discourse, through acknowledging its fundamental significance to all things. This is research is a conceptual exploration of tradition, looking at how it relates to identity, culture and society and how awareness of tradition is essential to community-based leadership.

Last summer, I spent 6 weeks in the world of palliative care in India, and have developed an interest in communty-based public health...I shall soon be returning there.
