The Laidlaw Scholarship: what I wish I knew
In her blog, Laidlaw Scholar Isabelle reflects on how the Laidlaw Scholarship has been much more than financial support, providing access to a global network of inspiring women leaders committed to creating positive change. She shares her experience facilitating social entrepreneurship workshops at the Laidlaw Foundation’s undergraduate conference, where she encouraged participants to embrace opportunities that challenge them and to align their careers with their values. Isabelle also highlights the wealth of opportunities available through Oxford, including the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Oxford Edge programmes, mentorship, and leadership development initiatives. Drawing on her own journey as the co-founder of BhuME Women’s Collective, she encourages future scholars to make the most of the Oxford ecosystem, remain open to new experiences, and use their time at Oxford to build the skills, confidence, and networks needed to drive meaningful impact in the world.
