Title: The Black Central Americas Project: Constellating Black Central America

Abstract: Constellating Black Central America focuses on researching cities and communities to document their histories, cultures, and migration patterns. Our main goal with this project is to fill in the historical gaps of these cities and create a valuable resource for future researchers interested in this history.

Research Objectives & Questions:

  • Primary Objectives: Understand the history, politics, and cultures of my designated cities and provide comprehensive research reports.
  • Secondary objectives: To help bridge the longstanding gap in Caribbean Studies

Background: The BCA Project is a digital public humanities initiative founded in 2023. Its main goal is to explore and promote the diverse aspects of Black Central American history and culture. The project aims to create a platform that facilitates discussions and showcases innovative programs within the Black Central American Studies field.

Methodology: As a scholar, I am responsible for in-depth and site-specific research reports about my assigned cities.

Potential Impact: Our digital map will be an essential resource to historians, sociologists, anthropologists, artists, and non-traditional and independent scholars interested in these fields.

Resources & Support Needed: I am open to any suggestions, from article recommendations to places to visit! Your input is highly valued and can greatly contribute to the success of this project. Feel free to help in any way you can!
