As a Laidlaw Scholar in the 2024 cohort, I was honoured to attend the annual conference held by Columbia University this year. I am so grateful and would like to say it's absolutely worth taking the 14-hour  flight to the opposite side of the world for this unforgettable experience. 

One thing I enjoyed the most was listening to other scholars' presentations. Although I am a physics major, it is still interesting to get to know what other young people are working hard on to make an impact. I was charmed because my peers' talks offered me a glimpse into other disciplines, giving me new sparks for promising interdisciplinary studies. What's more, their passion and commitment were so encouraging!

I am truly grateful to the Laidlaw Foundation for providing me with this invaluable opportunity. Meeting such a dynamic group of enthusiastic and brilliant young scholars was truly memorable. The chats and mingling with others truly broadened my horizons and enabled me to think from more angles.
