The unit has gone live! I joined the unit both days it went out in the community and seeing the cumulative work has been such joy. From the nurses, to the access associates, to the patients, care was being provided by the mobile unit that took nearly two years to develop.
As this was a soft launch, patients were only notified through community based organizations such as churches and various non-profits, so turnout was low, but was as planned. Being slammed on the first day would not have led to success, nor being devoid of any patients. From kids in need of vaccines to adults who had temporary hearing loss, we improved the health of patients and innovated the delivery of healthcare.
