What went well?

Meeting the Opportunity Consulting team went really well. It is a small group, but I feel as though they are all very invested in my learning through this process. I had a chance to have a brief introduction to a number of the projects we will be working on this summer.

What could have been done differently?

On Thursday and Friday, we went to a conference hosted by the Department of Education. I wish I had known a little bit more about the conference before we attended. I could have focused more on asking questions beforehand to understand our role with the grant conference.

What did I learn about myself when working with others?

I learned that I like working independently if I have a clear understanding of what is expected of me. This was a little challenging on days one and two because I was trying to understand what exactly we were doing.

What did I learn about leadership?

We spent a few days at a conference, and I realized that being an effective teacher is a huge part of leadership. Knowledge and contributions are limited if you can't share them with other people.

What do I want to develop or focus on next?

I am excited to dive deeper into the research components of my projects, once I can understand the clear parameters of the project.
