What went well?

The progress I made; what was achieved and done

This week is a reaction week. We continued our work, attended mentorship session and visited HRV with other scholars. I acted as a tour guide at HRV to test the final version of our script. Our team received many good comments. We were making preparations for the next week showcase, such as recruiting participants and Spanish tour guides, finishing the information boards and other last derivatives posed by Make_Sense. Another team made their showcase on Friday.

What did I learn about myself when working with others?

Contributions, behaviours and values I exhibited

I was a fast learner, responsible for my project, active to interact with others. By conducting HRV project, I was in charge of my team, developed my full potential, had networking with others. I really enjoyed my project and communication with others.

What did I learn about leadership?

Leadership attributes and insights I developed

Leaders often need to make tough decisions. When there are any conflicts of points among teammates, leaders should stand out to analyze situations, consider different options, and then make informed decisions.

What do I want to develop or focus on next?

What I still need to develop

Through the whole LiA journey, I still believe that language barrier is a big problem. Although Google Translate helps a lot, I still felt inconvenient to speak with locals and volunteers. For example, I can’t do a guided tour to the locals directly and may not get their comments on time. Sometimes, Google Translate makes mistakes and cannot understand the cultural implications.
