Leadership in Action – Week 4
Prototyping, Planning, and Learning from Conversations
This week has been all about creativity, collaboration, and deep conversations. I have been focusing on developing the digital version of the Game of Life: Breast Health Edition board game that I designed earlier for the upcoming BCF roadshow. I started coding a prototype to explore how the game could eventually be integrated into BCF’s web portal, while also testing different ways to present breast health information in an interactive format.
At the same time, I discussed the project with my team leader, specifically about how to make the game more practical and engaging within the roadshow setting. Together, we brainstormed a new direction for the activity. Instead of a traditional board game, we are now thinking of creating a large interactive roadmap that guides visitors through different booths at the event. Each “station” would introduce key breast health topics, encouraging participants to engage actively with the displays. By the end of the journey, visitors would walk away with essential information, having explored the roadshow in a more structured and memorable way. This new concept feels both more feasible and more impactful for the event.
In addition to this project, I also assisted with a Young Women’s Support Group meeting this week. The theme of the session was navigating relationships and intimacy during the breast cancer journey. It was a sensitive and honest discussion, and even though I was there in a supporting role, I gained valuable insights. Hearing about the importance of open communication between partners and the emotional support that survivors need during treatment and recovery gave me a deeper understanding of the challenges many women face beyond medical treatment.
Each week continues to remind me how multi-dimensional breast cancer support truly is, from education and outreach to emotional well-being and community care.
