A few weeks ago, I had the exciting opportunity to sit down with CanvasRebel, a magazine dedicated to sharing the stories of artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs. During this interview, I reflected on the mentors who have inspired me, the challenges I've faced along my journey, and my mission for my passion project, 'Wells for Wellness.'

Thanks to the past weeks at the Laidlaw Leadership Retreat, I could answer their questions smoothly and thoroughly. The retreat was filled with passionate conversations with fellow scholars about our values and goals, giving me a deeper understanding of the multifaceted puzzle pieces that make up a leader.

One session that particularly resonated with me was the leadership conversation with Dr. Diane Ryan. Her insights on the impact of a mentor made me reflect on the influential mentors in my own life and inspired me to express my gratitude to them. During this Laidlaw leadership conversation, I revisited pivotal moments that shaped my academic career and the leadership values instilled in me by these mentors. This reflection led me to share a significant story during my CanvasRebel interview about Dr. Olumi, a surgeon I work with as a medical scribe. His guidance and support have had a tremendous impact on my medical career, teaching me what it means to be a physician and reinforcing my pursuit of medicine.

Overall, the Laidlaw Leadership Retreat gave me meaningful connections and realizations that I'm excited to bring into my research project. Special thank you to  @Andrew Singleton (he series)  for leading such impactful sessions and @Abby Donaghue  for organizing engaging activities. I look forward to translating these experiences into tangible outcomes for my research project and future endeavors!
