Leadership in Action - Peru Week 3
Week 3 was off to a rocky start, I felt unwell after some food poisoning and had to visit a clinic, missing work for 2 days. However, it was lovely that my teammate Callysta and the other volunteers were checking on me a lot and continued pushing forward with ideas. On Thursday, we had a productive session with Casa and external volunteers which resulted in a proposal for a short term plan and long term plan to be produced. I was proud of our coordination as it was very helpful that the volunteers from Casa could translate the slides or the google forms that I had made from English into Spanish.
Moving forward, our main priority will be to present on this action plan to the management of Casa next week to see if there might be any amendments to the proposal before our implementation in the coming weeks. We also learnt how challenging planning an event can be, as we hope to make a volunteer gathering for bonding and integration to enhance the sense of belonging of volunteers at Casa. By dividing up tasks such as budget tracking, invitation template design, making the signup form, preparing the rundown and compiling the contact information of volunteers, we were able to efficiently map out the event we aim to host in week 5 of the LiA.
