My Leadership in Action experience with Platohedro has been a meaningful opportunity to connect my technical skills with my interest in social impact. During my placement, I redeveloped and deployed Platohedro’s website, creating a clearer digital platform to communicate its work in art, technology, education and community transformation.

The website now presents Platohedro’s programmes, artistic residencies, digital laboratories, events and ways to support the organisation in a more structured and engaging way. One of the main challenges was translating Platohedro’s broad and creative identity into a simple online experience. Platohedro is more than a cultural organisation—it is a space where people learn, experiment, express themselves and build relationships. Developing the website required me to think not only about design and functionality, but also about storytelling, accessibility and trust.

This project taught me that technology can become a practical tool for strengthening social impact. A website may seem like a digital product, but it can help an organisation reach new communities, attract partners, communicate its impact and create opportunities for participation and funding.

The experience also developed my confidence in working independently and collaboratively. I had to understand the organisation’s needs, make design decisions, respond to feedback and take the project from an initial concept to a fully deployed platform. This process strengthened my problem-solving, communication and project-management skills.

Most importantly, Platohedro changed how I think about leadership. Leadership is not always about directing others; it can also mean listening carefully, identifying what is needed and using your skills to create something useful for a wider community.

I am proud that the final website is now live and can support Platohedro’s future work. Although there is still room for further improvements, such as adding more content, monitoring user engagement and expanding online fundraising, the project has created a stronger foundation for the organisation’s digital presence.

This placement has shown me that meaningful impact can come from combining creativity, technology and collaboration. I leave the experience with a deeper understanding of social entrepreneurship and with greater confidence in my ability to contribute to projects that create opportunities for others.
