What Went Well: This week marked a significant milestone in my experience as I was able to perform data collection independently for the first time. Transitioning from the clinic to the hospital ward was a notable change—while I was accustomed to seeing patients one-on-one in a clinical setting, the ward environment was entirely different, surrounded by multiple patients and a more dynamic atmosphere. Despite these new challenges, I was able to apply my skills effectively, which felt like a major step forward in my journey.

The press conference for the mobile stethoscope app concluded successfully. I played a role in escorting guests to the venue, which allowed me to engage with professionals in the field and observe the press conference in person for the first time. It was an enlightening experience to see how the project I contributed to was presented to the public.

What Could Have Been Done Differently: While I adapted well to the new environment in the hospital ward, I realized that I could have prepared myself better by familiarizing myself with the specific challenges of working in a ward setting. Understanding the differences in patient interaction and the pace of work in a ward could have made the transition smoother.

What I Learned About Myself When Working with Others: This week, I learned that I am capable of working independently and handling new responsibilities with confidence. However, I also recognized the importance of being adaptable and receptive to the unique demands of different working environments. Working in the ward required me to adjust my approach to patient interactions and manage my time more effectively, which are crucial skills in any collaborative setting.

What I Learned About Leadership: Observing the press conference highlighted the importance of presentation and communication in leadership. Seeing how data and findings were communicated to the public reinforced the need for clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in leadership roles. I also learned that being part of a successful event involves teamwork and coordination behind the scenes, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

What Do I Want to Develop or Focus on Next? Moving forward, I want to continue developing my ability to work independently in diverse healthcare settings. I also aim to deepen my understanding of the dynamics of hospital wards, which will help me become more effective in my data collection efforts. Additionally, I am excited to contribute to the new family medicine project, and I want to focus on honing my skills in verifying AI-generated transcriptions and translations.

What I Still Need to Develop: I need to develop a stronger grasp of the unique challenges associated with different medical environments, such as hospital wards. Building this knowledge will help me anticipate and manage potential challenges more effectively. I also want to refine my skills in working with AI language models, particularly in ensuring the accuracy of multilingual transcriptions and translations.
