Research Report 2025: Investigating the Role of Alpha-Synuclein Charge in Synaptic Vesicle Fusion and Neurotransmitter Release Using Mass Spectrometry

Studying how the neuronal protein α-synuclein interacts with signalling lipids to regulate vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release. Using advanced mass spectrometry, this study reveals molecular insights into mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease and related synucleinopathies.
