Research Proposal - Women as Survivors of Civil War Violence: A Comparative Study of Ireland and Spain
My research will analyse and compare the personal memory of gendered violence in the Irish and Spanish Civil Wars, as understood by the women who experienced it. I will use a transnational historiographical approach grounded in critical gender theory as well as memory and trauma theory.
