Nobody Here Was Buying It Anyway: The sacrificial SKU, demographic assignment and the material preconditions of brand deinfluencing
This paper examines brand deinfluencing from the commissioning side. Drawing on interviews with three marketing practitioners, it sets out the material conditions a firm needs before it can pay a creator to criticise a product, and the forms the practice takes where those conditions are absent.
