Leadership in Action Program - St Christopher Hospice

Over the past 6 week's I've had the pleasure to work at St Christophers Hospice as a Data analyst volunteer. Over my 6 weeks, I learn't a lot about navigating the workspace and more importantly how to navigate people to get what's needed to be done. Here is a poster of my experience and reflection.

During my time volunteering at St Christopher Hospice, I was exposed to a lot of different dynamics in the workplace for the first time. One that became a big blocker in my Leadership in action program was the dynamic between Access and Trust, learning to navigate and manuever around it, to be able to get what I need to achieve what I set out to do was a challenge I could not predict.

Looking back, I believe at the time I could not underastand the scope of just how much this can affect one's intended final goal. But, I think this was an extremely important lesson to learn now and reflect on to be aware of future success. Yet despite this obstacle, I think I successfully redirected my energy and focus into still making something of value for the organisation I was tasked with helping.

I am very grateful for this opportunity, I learn't a lot about the healthcare system, palliative care role and learning how to conduct data analysis and producing reports and how to ask the right questions to get people to pause, take a breath, and reflect.
