Investigating the Intersection between Covid-19, Anti-Asian Violence, and Filipinx/a/o Mental Health: an AAPI Data Project and Literature Review
In collaboration with other Tayo.help student fellows, physicians, and policy makers, we conducted a systematic review of topics related to Filipino mental health. These preliminary results highlight severe underrepresentation of the Filipino community in public health.

Hi! I'm Elena, a pre-med student-athlete at Brown University studying Chemistry and Literary Arts! I love deep talks, working out, and thrill-seeking. I am so excited to be a part of the Laidlaw Scholars Network!
This summer, I am working on data extraction for a systematic review of themes relevant to mental health in Filipino communities. In collaboration with Dr. Melissa Palma, I will also develop an independent study project that identifies key shared beliefs among Filipino-American communities, notably immigrants, that correlate with reluctance against receiving preventative medical treatment.
