Continuing to Lead with Curiosity: My Evolving Research Journey

I am really excited to share that I have recently been accepted for additional research funding to continue the research project that I worked on over the summer. I will be continuing with up to 140 hours of work alongside my university studies.

Now that I have perfected my method and techniques in the laboratory I can focus fully on data collection and analysis. I will be using my time to process additional samples including new male samples which will allow me to analyse my results for sex-based differences. I will also be collecting more data from the female samples I had previously collected to improve my data analysis and hopefully improve the significance of my results.

For now I have started preparation for my return to the laboratory including selecting new patient samples matched to my previous cohort and expanded female data to provide a greater overall outlook on factors such as age and BMI. Overall I am really happy to be able to continue this project as it means a lot to me and I am very excited to see how this additional research can improve my understanding and results. Thank you to the Laidlaw Foundation for allowing me to continue my journey!
