In ‘Theme On Redundancy : Redundant Theme’, Berman and Wilson explore the temporal refractions of technology, capital, progress, the useless and the superfluous. 

Working together since 2025, their collaborations have evolved over time. Their early work was reactionary and ironic, but experimentation with different media has allowed them to push beyond the confines of postmodern cynicism, into a more complete nostalgia. 

The duo’s work came to prominence after their ‘Blog’ series in the summer of 2026 - of which this work is a part. Toying with archive footage and original music (which notably departs from the stylistic guitar of ‘A Curse of Mind and Money’) they construct three movements. In his diaries, Berman describes the piece as “Plans for work, midweek lull, concerns for future. Absolute history.” Recurring eyes lament what they see. Wheels and circularity parody the ‘wheel of time’, questioning the ‘myth of progress’. Overall a progress-nostalgia-futurism dynamic produces a listless meandering which poses the question: is it the audience, the artist or history who leads? 

They remain intentional, collaborative and transcendent.
