Hi there! I'm Ashiya, a member of the 2025 Laidlaw Scholars Leadership & Research Programme Cohort. I'm a student at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, pursuing a double major in Peace, Conflict & Justice and Ethics, Society & Law.
My passion lies in education and the governance of digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. I am currently exploring how the intersection of this affects children facing socioeconomic disadvantage through my Leadership-in-Action project in North-East England.
I look forward to reading and contributing to the incredible body of work on this platform. I love to read, hike, do ballet and learn new things - please feel free to reach out to connect anytime! :)

Undergraduate Leadership & Research Scholar, The London School of Economics and Political Science
Hello! I am a multidisciplinary designer and have been with the Laidlaw Foundation for over five years, working to strengthen our global Scholar community and amplify the impact of our programmes.
My work lives somewhere between design, education, and anthropology, usually with sticky notes involved. I studied Human Sciences as an undergrad and recently finished a Master’s in Anthropology, both at UCL.
I am your go-to person for questions regarding alumni engagement and the Laidlaw Scholars Advisory Board.
Born and raised in Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 Outside of work? Probably in the ceramics studio or a yoga class. Big fan of nature and very small bugs.

Hi! I'm Mariam, a Politics student at the LSE.
I would love to connect so ping me a message here or by email at: m.a.habib-matta@lse.ac.uk / m.habib-matta@gmail.com
Hey! My name is Eleni, I’m 21 years old, and I come from the beautiful island of Cyprus. I study Law, but I'm not confined to its boundaries. I am passionate about post-colonial reconstruction and intersectional justice. Outside my studies, I find joy in quiet corners. Whether it's losing myself in a book (currently Elena Ferrante's My Brilliant Friend), picking up drawing again, or experimenting with new recipes, I try to make everyday life a tad more mindful.
