About Amna Habiba
Hey! I’m Amna, an incoming third year molecular biology student at the University of Toronto originally from Karachi, Pakistan. This summer, I’ll be in Geneva researching how global institutions like GESDA, WHO, and IARC use foresight to shape cancer prevention policy. Basically, I’m looking at how science can stop being reactive, and start planning better for the future.
I’ve worked in labs studying genetics and nanoimmunoengineering, but I also care a lot about science communication. I’ve written about microbes, organized hackathons, and spoken at places like the UN and the Dubai Futures Forum. When I’m not deep in research mode, I’m probably cooking something random at 1am or walking around with too many thoughts.
Always down to connect, especially if you care about science, systems, or asking big questions.
