Hello! I am a multidisciplinary designer and have been with the Laidlaw Foundation for over five years, working to strengthen our global Scholar community and amplify the impact of our programmes.
My work lives somewhere between design, education, and anthropology, usually with sticky notes involved. I studied Human Sciences as an undergrad and recently finished a Master’s in Anthropology, both at UCL.
I am your go-to person for questions regarding alumni engagement and the Laidlaw Scholars Advisory Board.
Born and raised in Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 Outside of work? Probably in the ceramics studio or a yoga class. Big fan of nature and very small bugs.
Undergraduate student studying Environmental Engineering. Main areas of interest are in Public and Environmental Health, WaSH, and human-centered urban design.
I'm an alumni from Tufts University, I majored in cognitive and brain sciences. My project is titled 'The Neuroscience of Intellectual Disability', and through multiple molecular biology techniques my lab aims to better understand the effect of β-catenin and Adenomatous Polyposis coli Protein (APC) malfunction on intellectual disabilities. I do most of my work at the Michele Jacob Lab, in the Tufts School of Medicine in downtown Boston. I'm now working at the Martinos Center on Alzheimer’s research.
Hi everyone! I'm a senior at Tufts University majoring in Clinical Psychology and American Studies. My research through Laidlaw looks at the neuroimaging data of veterans with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and their response to ambiguous emotional stimuli.
đź‘‹ Hi there, my name is Georgina. I am a Laidlaw Alumni and a graduate from University College London. It's a pleasure to meet you!

Resident Physician, Stony Brook University Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
I am currently a resident physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stony Brook University Hospital, where I am dedicated to community outreach and women's oncology care. My journey into women's health was profoundly shaped by my time as a Tufts University Cohort 1 Laidlaw Scholar. Working under the mentorship of Dr. Amy Yee, my research focused on testing the effects of a novel combination treatment on Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) in a mouse model. Specifically, I investigated the treatment’s impact on the tumor’s gene expression and immunogenicity to help determine its therapeutic mechanism.
This research was deeply personal to me, as my mother was diagnosed with TNBC when I was six years old. Growing up, I dreamed of contributing to TNBC research to find a cure for this terrible disease. While my mother is thankfully a survivor of over twenty years, TNBC remains the most aggressive form of breast cancer, and many other patients are not as fortunate. The Laidlaw program gave me the opportunity to dive deeply into the Yee Lab's promising work, allowing me to take on significant independent responsibility. This experience ultimately inspired me to complete a Senior Honors Thesis, which earned Highest Thesis Honors.
Following my time at Tufts, I worked as a nursing assistant on a Hematology/Oncology unit to gain clinical experience before matriculating to medical school at Stony Brook University. In medical school, thanks to my foundational research experience through Laidlaw, I continued exploring research opportunities in obstetric and palliative care, and utilized my Laidlaw leadership training to serve as a leader for our student- and resident-run free primary care and gynecology clinics for uninsured patients on Long Island. Having graduated in 2026, I am now completing my OB/GYN residency with the goal of pursuing a career in gynecologic oncology or minimally invasive gynecological surgery.
