Yesterday we kicked off CraftHER 2025 by @Swara - Voice of Women !
We spent the day settling in, hearing each other’s stories, doing self-reflection exercises, and talking about what each of us hopes to learn, unlearn, and become over the next 6 weeks.
There’s something powerful about witnessing that mix of nervousness and excitement.
About seeing someone light up when they speak about where they come from or who they want to become.
Their energy is contagious!
Today, we had our first engagement with Sanjana George. Athlete, mental health advocate, and all-round badass. The second Indian woman to sign with WWE (after Kavita Devi) is Sanjana George. We had an intense workout session, talked about movement, mindset, and breaking barriers as women.
I can’t wait to take them through the CraftHER journey we’ve been dreaming up for months. To show them the talent that exist in women across Kerala building with their hands, their hearts, and their communities.

I’m Asha Scaria Vettoor, an entrepreneur and Laidlaw Scholar from the University of Oxford. I run Swara, a social enterprise based in India that creates income opportunities for women through ethical fashion and storytelling. We also host CraftHER, a 6-week Leadership-in-Action program that brings Laidlaw scholars from around the world to Kerala to learn from women-led enterprises, grassroots organisations, and artisan communities.
I’m passionate about building bridges between global learners and local changemakers in my community and always up for a conversation on social entrepreneurship, ethical supply chains, or running programs in remote parts of India.
