My LiA project is taking place in Santa Rosa de Copán, Honduras. I will be working with a team of American Residents and Medical Students on a project related to tracking the effects of educational interventions on Emergency Department outcomes. I will also be working with a local Neurologist on days where he does free work for local and surrounding communities. I am mainly just observing on these days outside of the rare go grab me a file. Finally, three times I will go out into rural areas and provide medical supplies (carry boxes) to otherwise remote communities.
My project has no relation to last summers project. I just wanted to do something where I was confident I was being useful, as lab work can oftentimes be rewarding but not immediately gratifying, and I am minoring in Spanish and wanted to improve that.
Below there is a picture of my room, it has windows but they are barred up because they are street level. The other image is right outside my door on the walk to the hospital (about 15 mins).
