Value and Vulnerability: Sex Work in Thai Theravāda Buddhism

My Laidlaw Summer 1 research examines commercial sex work through an emic analysis of Thai Theravāda socio-religious relations. Focusing on gender, filial duty, and merit-making, I explore how the same structures that confer social and religious value can also heighten vulnerability to exploitation.
