I'm always surprised by people's ability to quickly devise routines, establish community and find new challenges to solve. Reflecting on my third week in Boston, I feel right at home in a diverse and ever-changing network of people, ideas and innovation. As I have adjusted to routine within my project, I have found a renewed respect for anyone that chooses teaching as a career. It seems that the real responsibility of being a good teacher is knowing how to facilitate and nurture the growth of your students' confidence, even when you may not feel that confident in yourself or in how you're teaching.

I had to teach myself most of the content for the module I was leading (brushing up on GCSE circuits when you haven't done it in years is not as easy as it looks). Although I was prepared in theory, I was very much not prepared for knowing how to action my knowledge whilst juggling multiple students, team expectations and general mishaps along the way. With the close collaboration of my fellow instructors, I realised that no problem is ever as big as it seems. I am eternally grateful for everyone's help so far!

'Pressure is a privilege'. A quote that I have thought about repeatedly during my time here, and a truth that has emerged in many forms during this project. Often, we may not realise how lucky we are, as we grumble and complain our way through deadlines and the late nights of work, when not too long ago we had looked forward to the experience of being here...exactly where we are right now. The sooner we realise it's not about avoiding stress and challenge, but about choosing the stress that is worth the burden, we get the opportunity to fill our lives with real growth, challenge and fulfilment. 

Other than teaching, I have had the chance to attend some amazing workshops, see some fascinating art within Boston's plethora of museums and go to my first Red Sox game! If anyone is considering this project as their LiA, I highly recommend it purely for the opportunity to join a hub of continuous learning and exciting possibility. 

I'm looking forward to this week of teaching, as interns move on from learning during the modules to building their prototypes, further developing their confidence in electronics (hopefully).
