I am excited to start the Laidlaw Scholars Program this summer because it is the perfect intersection of things I’m passionate about. I’m eager to dive deeper into economics, math, and finance through real research, and I look forward to the opportunity to work closely with my faculty mentor and seek her guidance for my project.

My research focuses on the impact of different financial credit sources on MSME growth in my home country: how accessible they are and where they fall short. I am excited to conduct surveys and interviews with individuals in my hometown, and I hope the findings from hearing directly from people about their financial experiences will point to opportunities for improvement.

Beyond the research itself, I’m looking forward to becoming part of the Laidlaw community, both at Barnard and across the cohort at other universities. It will be fun to be surrounded by people who are equally passionate about their own fields, and I can’t wait to hear about everyone’s projects and findings.

I’m super excited to explore New York City. I’m looking forward to exploring everything it has to offer: new restaurants, cuisines I’ve never tried, and more Broadway shows!
