Over the past week our project has moved forward considerably. As a team, we have clarified and advanced toward completing our deliverables for Hagamos Composta; that of researching grant funding and reviewing their operations - a broad umbrella under which we have already lots of recommendations for change and improvement. We advanced our understanding of Hagamos Composta in large part because of those we have talked to. Crucially, we talked to two branch managers from Northern Mexico who told us their perspective of the company, important for getting a perspective outside Mexico City.

We also visited their site just outside of Mexico City used for composting. It was a lot of fun to visit and learn about their composting processes, and movingly, saw their process of composting pets. Hagamanos Composta, an offshoot, composts pets, returning the compost to the pet owners. For customers wishing to compost their pets, a moving ceremony under artwork by local artist Georgina Gutierrez, which can be seen above, takes place. 

Additionally we have also got a small but great team of volunteers working with us on our project. Michelle and Jacqueline while numbering two are really invested in the project with Jacqueline even joining the rest of our cohort in visiting Hagamos Composta last Wednesday. Below can be seen the work we did to help offload buckets from their delivery truck.

On the more cultural side of things, I had the opportunity to learn more about Mexico and its history managing to visit the Anthropological museum which is too big to see everything in a single visit. There, you learn about humanity from its beginings, the migrations of man into the Americas and the history of the Maya and Aztec peoples.

And finally, probably the highlight of this last week was neither our work with Hagamos Composta or being a tourist but the World Cup. I with others watched the final at the fan zone, which was packed to the brim of 1000s of football fans to see Spain deservedly lift the trophy.
