Today, I am wrapping up my first full week working for Rainbow Faith and Freedom. My current project with the organization involves beginning outreach for their 'Worshipping with Love' workshop. This workshop aims to address the centuries-long harm and hurt caused by places of worship towards 2SLGBTQIA+ folks. By reaching out to these places of worship with our programming, we hope to disrupt the perception that faith and religious institutions are irreconcilable with queer identity.

For me, this first week has been filled with lots of research into the different faith communities in the GTA (as well as figuring out that GTA means Greater Toronto Area) and getting acquainted with the organization's missions and values. I've had the great privilege to meet many different members of the organization, including the Executive Director. The 'Worshipping with Love' programming is the first phase of a much larger project of the organization, and it's amazing getting to have a voice in how this project will begin to evolve. Because much of this beginning work is logistical and backend before the official outreach, I've also had the opportunity to try out new coffee shops in my new neighborhood, Kensington Market.

I'm excited to see how this project evolves over time. Stay tuned!
