I spend my free time with friends from work who volunteer with me at the Serve the City! Although we hit many of the popular landmarks like the Louvre, Tour Eiffel ect, we also aim to try new restaurants and bakeries around Paris. One of my coworkers is a Laidlaw scholar from Trinity College Dublin, also completing her LiA at Serve the City. This was a really exciting moment for me to see a Laidlaw scholar from another continent passionate about similar issues and working to help solve them. This connection, along with my other new friends, was only possible through Laidlaw, and I will keep these new connections with me even after my LiA has passed.
Additionally, I am taking advantage of the convenient transportation systems in Europe to take short flights/trains to new countries. I am currently visiting a friend at St. Andrews in Scotland!
I am attaching a photo of a street in Edinburgh famous for looking like it came out of a Harry Potter book - the cafe J.K Rowling wrote the first book in is actually on this street as well!

The street in Edinburgh is so pretty -- I love all the colors! Your time at Serve the City sounds so fulfilling, and I'm excited to read about the coming weeks of your LiA.
