As my LiA comes to an end, I have kept myself busy this past week trying to help DRI as much as I can before I depart. I continued to work on the Citizen Data Project, compiling a document of manuals for monitoring people with disabilities. This process has opened my eyes to communities and differences around the world regarding the rights of people with disabilities. Once again, I am very appreciative of the team I work with. I have found it to be very empowering to be surrounded by people who have advocated for disability rights for many years.

Washington, D.C., celebrated the country's 250th year of independence through an intense heatwave. Most of the National Mall was closed and difficult/impossible to navigate. I found it best to check out some museums in the AC and avoid the crowds. I also spent the last week watching the World Cup with friends.
