LIA Week 6 (end)
And so, it ends
It's been really interesting - getting to know all the cultural differences, meet all the people
In our last week, we went to the pub together with the lab as they have also finished their research deadline! It was really fun- I ran into someone from Malaysia there, and it was interesting to hear about his perspectives on coming to Germany and Southeast Asia, especially as someone from Singapore.
We also went for laser tag together; it was really, really fun. It was also interesting to hear more about each researcher's life outside of research, and their views on various topics (technical or otherwise).
I'm currently back in Singapore, and will probably reflect on this more fully in a while. As an international student, I think it was really more of a glimpse into what working in Europe could be like, as well as research in a place outside of a University; But for now, jet lag is unfortunately still very present, so this is simply my aliveness notice.
In the meantime, being home in 2 years is giving some reverse cultural "shock" without the shock (ie. I'm definitely noticing the differences, but I knew they existed, so it's basically exactly what I expected - its not shocking at all, just interesting to be able to see in action).
We are done with the advent calendar questions, and I hope to survive the rest of this summer.
There is so much to do and learn, and only 30,000 days - and I will reflect on these 42 soon.
