LiA Week 3 Reflection
Hello all,
I am happy to report that this has been an interesting/fulfilling week. In honesty, I have gone back and forth on what information feels like its mine to share, as I am volunteering in a clinic where folks are receiving a lot of different medical care, which includes abortion procedures. I am very proud of my work, but I know that disclosing any details about those who work there and those who are here for procedures is not only a violation of privacy, but could be potentially dangerous. I just wanted to give this as a preface, as I know I have not been going into as much detail as some of my peers with regards to day-to-day details.
This being said, I have been able to talk with providers about their work and learn more about what it looks like to provide care in a sanctuary state. The work is intense, and the people providing this care are incredibly strong, level-headed and organized. They are very kind and excellent teachers.
Additionally, I have continued with my small, self-led research project, which has reignited my love of policy and data analysis. I have found this work to be very grounding and I hope to provide a sample in the coming weeks.
I cannot believe that I am halfway through my LiA. As we approach the second half of this (and the last month of the summer), I am feeling all the more grateful for this opportunity.
Best,
Jasmine
