LiA Week 2 Reflection
Week two of my LiA has been incredible! I have officially begun volunteering on the floor of the clinic, which has been a very grounding/intense/energizing experience. The nursing team that I work with is so beyond incredible. Though I was still learning, I was able begin volunteering and getting a lay of the land in terms of patient care and the flow of the clinic. Next week, I will be getting a pair of my own scrubs - I am very excited.
Additionally, I have been asked to do some preliminary research into demographics, best practices and relevant news on topics of repro justice which I am incredible excited to begin. My work will help anchor the work we do here into the broader context of repro work across the country. This is especially important as many of their patients are from out of the state.
In that, here is an article from a clinic further south detailing their work. I found this article to be very powerful and grounding in the work I want to do, and thought that others may find it interesting as well.
All my best to my fellow Laidlaw folks!
