This week, I started wrapping up my research tasks and pivoted to outlining and beginning my final deliverable for Data-Pop Alliance, which is a handbook on preventing bias in large language models. This guide will be shared with the rest of the company and possibly be featured on their website.

At the beginning of the week, I conducted my remaining interviews with various team members, gathering their opinions on different ethical dilemmas within AI. Additionally, the data team welcomed a new intern, which was very exciting. What made it even more interesting, though, was that this intern’s master's thesis focused on gendered embeddings in LLM algorithms, which aligns perfectly with my interests and work. She presented her thesis during one of our working sessions which was quite fascinating, and it inspired me with some new ideas to include in my deliverable.

For the rest of the week, I focused on outlining my handbook and researching the best presentation mediums for this topic. Outside of DPA, I continued volunteering with the GLBT Historical Society, assisting at an event I mentioned last week. This event, an auction in partnership with a local furniture store, aimed to raise funds for PRIDE and LGBT youth programs. I helped move items for auction and assisted winners with their transactions. The event was a success, with a fun and lively atmosphere and I got to chat with many cool people.

Next week, I plan to finish my first draft of my handbook, so that my team members can provide feedback.
