My schedule varies a lot! We do food distributions three times a week, language and culture exchanges twice a week, soup kitchens twice a week, and corporate social responsibility events as well. There are some days (Mondays) where I only have a virtual meeting with the Marketing team, and others where I’m out from eight in the morning to seven in the evening (some Saturdays). There isn’t really a ‘typical’ day; last week we had events in Châtelet, Jaurès, Stalingrad, and Plaine-Monceau, and my day can start at 7am or 7pm, though most often it's 9h30. One thing that holds consistent though is that I try to walk to and from our coworking café, which is about twenty five minutes from my apartment. I also grab a pastry from the boulangerie on the corner (I’ve tried about half of everything they offer).

I had never considered doing social work before this, but a lot of the other interns here are doing Masters of Social Work, and hearing about their experiences and learning from my own work has made me think more about working with refugees. I at the very least plan to do more volunteering in NYC, but it has given me a lot of food for thought.

My work, if anything, has become more broad. Since STCP is run by volunteers, a lot of people are on vacation and many things are being put on pause till September, like our language and culture exchanges (my favourite part so far!). I haven’t been able to do any of the interviews for marketing, though there’s still time, but I have written an article about the canicule for the blog, led a CSR event route, and will be volunteering at the EU Swimming championships, and gotten to know some of the regulars who come to our language exchanges!
