It's hard to believe that I've now reached the half way mark of my LiA project! Just like the previous two, this week was packed full of design workshops, prototyping and field trips across CDMX and Estado de Mexico. 

We had two charity visits this week. On Saturday, we went to the office of Las Sabinas, an organisation that supports survivors of sexual violence through various different initiatives, including rollerskating, therapy sessions and outreach work in the periphery communities. This was a very thought-provoking trip, especially as we were encouraged to think about the positives and negatives of safeguards and systems that exist in our home countries and in Mexico. On Wednesday, we travelled around an hour and a half outside of Mexico City to Xonacatlán, where we visited a composting site run by the organisation Hagamos Composta. We were taken on a tour of the facilities and saw the various different stages of turning food waste into compost, which can then be used to grow crops or fertilise soil. The team was incredibly welcoming and friendly and I found their focus on staff and community wellbeing very inspiring. It was also great to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for the day and to see a different part of Mexico! 

In terms of working with Genera Territories, we met with the team on Wednesday to present our prototype. It was very rewarding to show them the hard work we'd put into creating the AI chatbot and to receive positive feedback on it! We also met with our volunteers the next day to update them on the process and to delegate tasks to them. Overall, we are feeling much more confident in our work, and are excited for another meeting today with the organisation's IT specialist, who will check our software for bugs and other problems. 

Outside of work, we've continued making the most of everything Mexico City has to offer, including the enormous Museum of Anthropology, the historic centre - complete with the Metropolitan Cathedral and the ruins of Tenochtitlan - any many new food spots! We're also getting excited for a weekend trip outside of the city, to Puebla and Cholula...
