Laidlaw Retreat Day 1 Reflection
When asked to reflect on how I am feeling about the next six weeks and my individual research, I honestly feel like I have a lot of questions, but also an eagerness to get started. 6 weeks of self-guided research feels really daunting, but I am looking forward to finding a routine that works best for me in conducting my research. I feel like I still want to narrow my topic and hone in on a more specific aspect. I have a lot of ideas about what this could be, and I think my research will guide me in deciding. I still need to set up a regular time to meet with my mentor, but I am really excited to collaborate with her and learn more about her work. I feel ready to dive in, and I think the anticipation is getting to me!

My Laidlaw Scholars Research topic will examine how Jordan's growing refugee population impacts access to trauma-informed education.
