Laidlaw Residential 2: Selside - The Yorkshire Dales
Whilst excited, initially, I was also a bit unsure as to what to expect from this residential since I was surrounded by people who were still fairly new to me, in an unfamiliar environment, without cell service, and exposed to new activities and challenges.
However, I can say that being pushed out of my comfort zone in this way truly has to have been one of the most rewarding experiences that I have had in a very long time!
Whilst in the Dales, we did various activities and collaborated in various groups. Our activities included hiking, climbing, caving, cooking and cleaning - fulfilling (what I believe to be) the residential's aim of making the Leeds 2026 cohort its own little family.
Overall, this was a phenomenal opportunity to get to know my cohort better and interact on a more personal level (in a less professional environment), challenge ourselves and grow as individuals, develop our competences when working in group settings and making life-long connections.
