Journal Entry: Research Summer Week 4
In week 4, we continued making progress towards our research objective. With the deadline for the first draft, the pressure to deliver was definitely higher, however given our consistent progress, teamwork, and Kevin's guidance (who is our project supervisor), it was managed well.
Even though the vast majority of the week revolved around research, there were still enrichment activities provided for us. The Data and Statistic course we received on the last day of the week was especially insightful, teaching us very valuable skills that will certainly transfer positively to our research progress.
I look forward to the last two weeks of the research summer, in terms of the future activities to come, as well as finishing off our research project.

Bora, it's good to see that your team has continued to make steady progress despite the increased pressure of the first draft deadline. You clearly recognise the importance of effective teamwork and the support Kevin has provided in helping the group maintain momentum. Learning how to work collaboratively under time constraints is an important part of both research and leadership.
I was also pleased to see that you highlighted the Data Management and Visualisations session. As your project develops, I'd encourage you to reflect not just on what was useful, but how you expect to apply these ideas in practice. For example, has the session changed the way you think about presenting evidence, interpreting data or communicating your findings?
Looking ahead, I'd encourage you to use these weekly reflections to capture your own intellectual development. Rather than focusing primarily on what happened during the week, consider questions such as: What challenged my assumptions? What difficult decision did our team have to make? What have I learnt about myself as a researcher or collaborator? Those kinds of reflections often reveal the greatest personal growth.
