Arunma Oteh is a global finance and development trailblazer and internationally renowned scholar.

Following the discussions, there will be a book launch and signing for Arunma's new book 'All Hands On Deck: Unleash Prosperity Through World Class Capital Markets'.

Arunma Oteh, has been Executive in Residence at Saïd Business School since January 2019. Her research areas of focus are capital markets, economic development and financial technology. Arunma advises the School on Africa, entrepreneurship, finance and sustainability. She has also co-chaired the School’s Anti-Racism Initiative Taskforce. She was previously Treasurer of the World Bank, Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria, Group Vice President and Group Treasurer, African Development Bank Group. Arunma has received several awards notably Nigeria’s Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) National Honour. She is one of Power List’s 2020 top 100 people of Black Heritage in the UK and was named one of Africa’s 50 most influential African women by Forbes Africa in March 2020.

Leveraging her deep affiliation with the University of Oxford, this event will bring together global thought-leaders to discuss and call to action - how to build a better world through better leadership, female participation and capital markets in Africa.

The event will cover discussions on five critical themes:

  1. Exemplary Leadership – Exploring what exemplary leadership means in today’s complex world and the intersection of governance, economics, and ethics.
  2. Leveraging Female Leadership – Understanding the unique value and perspective of women in leadership, identifying constraints, and discussing actionable steps for progress.
  3. Unleashing Africa’s Potential – Delving into the wealth of opportunities Africa holds for the global community and how to harness this potential.
  4. Sustainability – Generating innovative ideas to drive sustainable development and a carbon-free future.
  5. Capital Markets – Promoting best practices to cultivate world-class capital markets as a lever for economic and social advancement.
