Laidlaw Scholars Advisory Board Mission 

The Laidlaw Scholars Advisory Board empowers Scholars from the undergraduate Laidlaw Scholars Leadership & Research Programe to share their insights, helping bridge the gap between the Scholar community and the Laidlaw Foundation. By fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation, the Board ensures that Scholar voices shape the programme’s growth and evolution.

Board Member Role Outline

As a board member, you will:

  • Provide Feedback: Offer constructive insights to align the programme with Scholars’ needs.
  • Champion Inclusivity: Ensure diverse voices within the community are represented in Board discussions.
  • Collaborate on Initiatives: Co-develop new ideas and enhance existing ones with fellow Board members and Foundation staff.
  • Act as a Liaison: Represent Scholars by bringing forward their insights, concerns, and suggestions.

Commitment

  • Term: 1-year with opportunity to renew
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Meetings (Virtual): Three times per year (Spring, Autumn, Winter), with occasional shorter meeting in-between.
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 2-3 hours monthly, including meeting preparations and follow-ups.

Eligibility

Applications are open to all Laidlaw Scholars from the undergraduate Leadership & Research Programme.
