About TLA

The Transformative Leadership Academy (TLA) is now accepting applications for the 2026 program.  TLA is a tuition-free summer program that prepares exceptional student leaders to become exemplary changemakers in their careers and communities.  Modeled on Professor Hitendra Wadhwa’s award-winning Columbia Business School course, Personal Leadership & Success, TLA offers college students the chance to reflect deeply, strengthen character, build relationships with fellow changemakers, and clarify their beliefs about life, career, leadership, and the world.

TLA's 2025 pilot program brought together inspiring participants from Columbia, Vanderbilt, McGill, UMich, Howard, UPenn, and more. The 2026 program will include a virtual orientation in March and a 12-day residential session in late May. Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship covering tuition, room, and board from the Mentora Foundation.
